Self Directed Support
Hertfordshire County Council via Adult Care Services offer direct cash payments to individuals so that they can arrange their own care services from the various options available, giving more choice, greater flexibility and more control over the support received. The money is paid into a separate bank or post office account. Anyone who is currently receiving or has been assessed by Adult Care Services as needing support with daily living, is aged 16 or over and is willing and able to manage this money (with help if needed) can access a direct cash payment.
During 2009/10 the BHL Social Care Workforce Development Brokerage ran some events in ocess for partnership with Hertfordshire Adult Care Services looking at Self Directed Support from a Care Providers perspective.
